CTMS Band Makes State Honor Band

West Virginia Middle School Honor Band

The CTMS jazz band has made the 2026 West Virginia Middle School Honor Band (how exciting!). They found this out on a snow day when their band director called them and shared the news with them.

“It was a snow day, and we were stuck at home. But then our band director called us on Microsoft Teams to have a chat. After waiting for everybody to join (which never happened), she explained that we had made the West Virginia state honor band!”

The band recently returned from Charleston triumphantly after an amazing performance.

Seven of these students had made the West Virginia All-State band, a concert band with the best band kids in the state.

“That performance was also pretty great,”

says Escalante.
